About Us

Started on February 1, 2019, Troop 57 is a female troop and chartered organization of the Atascocita Methodist Church with a goal of providing a quality Scouting program to young girls from the area. Most girls attend Atascocita Middle School, Timberwood Middle School and Atascocita High School.

Scouting BSA is a home and neighborhood centered program designed to support the values you teach at home. The uniqueness of this program is that the troop is led by the girls with adult supervision. With an emphasis on the Scout Oath, Scout Law and the Scout Motto - Scouting BSA teaches respect for God, Country and People, as well as develops other positive skills including:

Character development
Physical skills
Leadership skills
Health and Safety skills
Getting along with others
Personal growth
Academic skills
Decision-making
Independence

The Scouts BSA program is based on age-appropriate activities for girls age 11 to 18. The girls are divided into small groups of 6-8 girls (called patrols) usually according to their grade in school. Girls work on rank advancement at troop meetings, at home and at troop campouts. The girls also have the opportunity to experience the outdoors by enjoying a variety of campouts.

The girls actively participate in various community activities with local organizations.
